How to use split pdf
- Choose your PDF file. Drop the file onto the upload area or pick it from your device. The file is read straight into your browser and is not uploaded anywhere.
- Set the options. Adjust the settings shown for split pdf. The defaults suit most files, so you can usually leave them alone.

What happens to my file?
Nothing leaves your device. Split PDF runs inside your browser, so the file is read from disk into memory, processed there, and handed back as a download. There is no upload, which means there is nothing for us to store or delete.
Will this change anything else in my file?
No. Split PDF changes only what the options above describe; the rest of the document is carried through untouched. It does not store paragraphs, headings or tables as structure. Anything that reads meaning back out of a PDF is reconstructing it from position and spacing, which is why converting away from PDF is the harder direction.
Does the PDF need to be unlocked first?
Yes. A PDF carrying an open password cannot be read until it is decrypted, so remove the password using the Unlock PDF tool — which requires you to know the correct password — and then run this tool on the result.
Is there a file size limit?
No server limit, because there is no upload — the ceiling is your own device memory. Desktops handle large files comfortably; a phone with several other tabs open will struggle sooner. If the tab becomes unresponsive, close the others and try again.

Troubleshooting
- Nothing happens after choosing a file. Check the file really is PDF — a renamed extension fails here the same way it fails in other readers.
- The upload is refused. Files over 32 MB are rejected. Split the document first, or use one of the browser-side tools, which are limited only by your device memory.
- The result looks different from the original. Some conversions cannot carry every feature across formats. The page says what was dropped when that happens.
