Lay a spreadsheet out as a properly ruled table on a fixed-layout PDF page.

Before you start. The first worksheet is drawn as a real table with sized columns and right-aligned numbers. Cell colours, merged cells, charts and formulas are not reproduced.

Your file is processed on the server and deleted immediately — nothing is stored.

How to use excel to pdf

  1. Choose your XLSX file. Drop the file onto the upload area or pick it from your device. The file is sent over HTTPS, processed, and deleted as soon as the result is written.
  2. Set the options. Adjust the settings shown for excel to pdf. The defaults suit most files, so you can usually leave them alone.
  3. Check and save the result. Run the tool and download the PDF result. Compare it against your original before you rely on it — conversions do not always carry every detail across.

Privacy

Your file travels over HTTPS to a temporary folder, is processed, and is deleted immediately afterwards. Results are held for a few minutes behind a single-use link and then removed. Nothing is indexed, backed up or used for anything else.

Questions

What happens to my file?

It travels over HTTPS to a temporary folder, is processed, and is deleted immediately afterwards — including if the job fails. The result waits behind a single-use link that expires after 15 minutes. Nothing is indexed, backed up or used for anything else.

Will the PDF result match my XLSX file exactly?

Not always, and it is worth knowing why. Cells store both a value and a display format, so what you see is often not what is stored — dates are numbers, and a rounded figure keeps its full precision underneath. Check the result against your original before relying on it.

Do I need to install anything or create an account?

No. Excel to PDF runs in the browser you already have. There is no sign-up, no download, no watermark and no paid tier holding features back.

Is there a file size limit?

Uploads are capped at 32 MB. If your file is larger, split it first, or use one of the browser-side tools, which are bounded only by your device memory.

Working with XLSX and PDF

About XLSX

Excel's Office Open XML workbook: a ZIP archive of XML parts holding sheets, cell values, formulas and a shared table of repeated strings.

Cells store both a value and a display format, so what you see is often not what is stored — dates are numbers, and a rounded figure keeps its full precision underneath.

About PDF

A fixed-layout page format. A PDF records where each glyph sits on the page, along with fonts, vector shapes and embedded images, so it looks identical everywhere it is opened.

It does not store paragraphs, headings or tables as structure. Anything that reads meaning back out of a PDF is reconstructing it from position and spacing, which is why converting away from PDF is the harder direction.

Troubleshooting

  • Nothing happens after choosing a file. Check the file really is XLSX — a renamed extension fails here the same way it fails in other readers.
  • The upload is refused. Files over 32 MB are rejected. Split the document first, or use one of the browser-side tools, which are limited only by your device memory.
  • The result looks different from the original. Some conversions cannot carry every feature across formats. The page says what was dropped when that happens.
